Shillong: A week after Hamida G Momin, a Meghalaya resident, studying in Chennai, went missing in Trishuli River, Nepal during an educational tour mishap, her family members have left for Nepal to join in the search operations.
A family member informed The Shillong Times on Sunday that Hamida’s brother, Hamedul G Momin, and her uncle left for Nepal on Saturday to get involved in the search despite the restrictions imposed by the Indian Embassy.
The family members had recently requested the Indian Embassy to ask the Nepal Government to continue searching for Hamida for at least 15 more days.
Hamida is still being officially quoted a ‘missing’ even after eight days of the incident which occurred on October 22.
