SHILLONG: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha said on Wednesday the Congress would “breathe its last” in the 2018 Assembly elections in the State, which will rise under a BJP-led government.
Terming the MUA-II Government as ‘festival and enjoyment government’, BJYM president Egenstar Kurkalang said there has been no development in rural areas and public money was used to organise festivals. “Mukul Sangma will be the last Congress CM of Meghalaya as the party will be completely finished by 2018,” said the BJP youth-wing leader who listed some of the failures of the of the Mukul-led government.
A bankrupt State exchequer, corruption, crime against women, increased school dropouts and unemployment are some of the failures that Kurkalang pointed out.
