GNLA ultras attack coal trucks in GH, teen assaulted

TURA: A group of GNLA cadres attacked coal-laden trucks on Thursday night in the remote Siju region of South Garo Hills.
As many as six armed GNLA militants fired at four trucks at Tainang area of NH-62 between Siju and Baghmara, the district headquarters.
The firing damaged three trucks but no casualty was reported.
Police teams from Baghmara, 15 km away, rushed to the site and later towed the damaged vehicles to safety.
Police suspect that the same group of militants had assaulted a 14-year-old school boy at Dambuk Atong village on Tuesday morning.
The militants were crossing through the Rongara area and met the boy at Dambuk Atong. They started questioning the teenager about the movement of security forces.
Unhappy with his replies, the rebels beat up the boy leaving him unconscious. The boy was hospitalised at Rongara health centre and later released.
