Guwahati, May 03 (UNI) After parading nude in support of their demand last month, members of 24 ethnic organizations of Karbi Anglong today rolled on their stomachs in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) premise at headquarter Diphu following ‘failure’ of talks between the members and KAAC and Assam government representatives.
Reports from Diphu said the organizations were called for discussion on their demand for revision of voter list ahead of KAAC election at the Council office today.
The discussion was attended by all the 24 organisations and KAAC chief executive member J Ronghang and the deputy commissioner and the superintendent of police of Karbi Anglong district.
However, the organizations maintained that the talks failed to make any headway towards meeting their demand and started slogan-shouting inside the KAAC office building.
Later, a section of the protestors rolled on their stomach from the office building to the gate of KAAC premise as a mark of protest.
The organizations have vowed to continue their protests till their demands are met.
Earlier last month, male members of these organizations had taken out a nude procession through Diphu to press for their demand. UNI
