One dead in accident
One person died on the spot after a coal laden truck capsized at Wageasi in North Garo Hills on April 30. The driver of the truck fled away after the incident. Meanwhile, on May 1, Police and Magistrate conducted checking at Khliehriat, detected one truck (ML-10A-2247) driven by Shaphrang Dkhar, suspected of transporting coal beyond permissible limit, in violation of NGT order.

Woman accuses BSF of taking cattle
A woman in West Garo Hills has accused BSF personnel of forcibly taking away her cattle. Gourmoni Koch lodged a complaint that on April 25 some BSF personnel from Purakhasia BOP went to Puran Bazar where she was grazing her cattle and forcibly took away 15 to their camp.

Assault
Ribanjop Disiar lodged a complaint that on May 1, one Banpyrkhat Lyngdoh Nonglait and his accomplice threatened the complainant with a knife and took away three tons of steel from Golf Club, Shillong.
On April 22 around 7.30 pm, one Sada Miah along with his son assaulted Abia Bibi in her house at Julapara village (WGH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries.

Theft
On April 29 night, unidentified miscreants (7/8) armed with daggers entered the residence of Kansan P Marak at Matchakolgre Car Service Centre, broke into the labourer’s room and took away cell-phones, cash and valuable documents.
On May 1, unknown miscreants stole tools, machineries and hardware valued around Rs. 80,000/- from the compound of St. Peter’s School at Kench’s Trace, Shillong.
