RESUBELPARA: A 29-year-old cadre of the GNLA surrendered in North Garo Hills on Tuesday.
Bikarias N. Marak, who is from a village in Assam’s Goalpara, surrendered before SP Dalton P. Marak and other senior officers and church leaders.
Marak joined the outfit on January 5, 2010. He was sent to Nokrek for training. But during his stay in Balat in West Khasi Hills, Marak gave his guns to another cadre, Sagar Sangma, and fled to Karbi Anglong.
Later Sagar was arrested and the weapons were seized.
During his stay in Karbi Anglong, Bikarias changed his name to Bilkam Bordoloi. Members of the Peace Committee convinced him to surrender.
