One arrested for misusing SHG’s fund

Mawkyrwat: The South West Khasi Hills District police on Wednesday arrested one person for allegedly misusing the fund of a Self Help Group (SHG) amounting to Rs.2.25 lakh.
According to the FIR filed by one Maialin K. Kharai, secretary Seng Synrop Tyllilang SHG, Pyndenlyngdoh village, the president of the SHG, Wosking Shangdiar had misused the money of the group drawn from the Meghalaya Rural Bank, Mawkyrwat Branch since 2010. South West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, H.G. Lyngdoh informed that the accused, Shangdiar was arrested on May 3 from Mawpat, Mawsynram and was booked under section 406 of the Indian Penal Code.
