Lapang inaugurates classroom for Ri Bhoi school

NONGPOH: D.D. Lapang, Chief Advisor to the Government of Meghalaya, inaugurated the newly constructed classroom of Seiborlang Secondary School on Friday.
The project was sanctioned under the SRWP scheme at a cost of Rs 1 lakh.
Among the dignitaries were V.S. Nongbet, DSEO, and B. Mawlieh, SDSEO.
Seiborlang Secondary School, Umshaken was established in 2003 by a group of 10 residents of Umshaken village with an aim to provide education to the rural children in English from the beginning. It has a total number of 332 students from nursery to Class X.
Speaking on the occasion, Lapang applauded the initiative taken by the founders of the institution and the teachers for their excellent services. Lapang also added that poverty and financial problems cannot stop anyone who wants to work hard and wants to succeed in life.
