Guwahati, May 15 (UNI) Known for its one horned Rhino worldwide, Kaziranga National Park will shut its doors for visitors from tomorrow for the annual recess during monsoon and will reopen on mid of October this year.
Increased rainfall during the monsoon time submerges most of the park’s area making it difficult for the jeep to ply for safaris. The normal safari is from November 1 to April 30.
Earlier, this year Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had said that the government will try to keep open the park from October 1 to May 30.
The park spread over an area of 430 square kilometre houses world’s largest population of Rhino. UNI
