SHILLONG: The Nongkrem Block Congress Committee wants early announcement of names of candidates for the 2018 polls so that there is time to build up organisational support.
In its meeting on Monday, the executive body of the committee focused on measures to be taken to strengthen the party in the block.
In this regard, members agreed on early announcement of the list of candidates because “the nominees will need time to prepare for organisational support”.
W.K Kyndiah and Lambor Nongrum, the Congress MDC candidate during the recent by election among others attended the meeting. The committee also decided to urge the Government to expedite the rollout of MHIS Phase-III.
