The four NGOs — (CSWO) (I), (HANM), Kynhun Pietngor (KP) and KJLU – have threatened to go for an indefinite hunger strike if the government fails to comply with the demand

“We demand the government to release the salaries of the traffic volunteers within 13 days”, CSWO (I) president Irene Hujon said after submitting a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma here on Thursday.

It may be mentioned that the State government has failed to release the salaries of more than 100 traffic volunteers attached to the different police stations and outposts in the different districts of the state for the last one year.
