District level meet
The District Level Group Leaders’ Meet 2017 of all the heads of institution of higher & secondary level, East Khasi Hills will be held at the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, State Headquarters, Pine Mount Ridge at 10am on May 18. The programme is being organised by the District School Education Officer, East Khasi Hills District.

Office bearers
Meghalaya State Government Employees’ Federation has elected new office bearers for the period 2017-2019. While D.I. Kjam has been named the president and Marki Passah is the vice president besides others.

Central employees’ meet
A meeting of Confederation of Central employees, Meghalaya has been called on May 19 at ITEF hall at 4 pm to discuss the protest in front of the Finance Minister’s office, New Delhi called by the Confederation on increase of minimum pay and other demands.

Bankers’ protest
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), Meghalaya state unit, staged a demonstration on Tuesday in front of the State Bank of India, Shillong Branch. The protest was part of the agitational programmes taken up by the UFBU against the steps taken by the RBI and the Centre to privatise banks.

Gratitude
The Mawlai Constituency Progressive Forum (MCPF) has expressed gratitude to local MDC PT Sawkmie for pursuing the issue of establishing the C&RD Block in the area. Sawkmie had recently taken up the issue with Chief Minister Mukul Sangma with regard to setting up the C&RD Block in Mawlai.
