NONGSTOIN: Cracking the whip, the HSPDP Nongstoin area unit dissolved its youth and women’s wings during an executive committee meet held here on Monday for alleged anti-party activities.
The EC observed that the two wings of the party’s Nongstoin unit were creating confusion among HSPDP workers and supporters.
The general secretary of the HSPDP women’s wing, F Marngar, and another party member Markos Marwein were suspended for three years.
The women’s wing had earlier threatened to part ways with the party if the selection of the local candidate for the 2018 polls is not done as per norms. Marngar had also slammed president of HSPDP’s Nongstoin unit and local MLA Diosstarness Jyndiang for not following due procedure for selection of the candidate.
The executive committee also demanded Marngar to apologise to the party and the local unit president for her statements within 48 hours failing which “legal action will be taken against her.” The executive committee also warned other party workers against anti-party activities.
