NONGSTOIN: The now-dissolved HSPDP women and youth wings of Nongstoin area unit have expressed grave concern over the decision of the executive committee of the party’s local unit.
The HSPDP Nongstoin unit executive committee on Tuesday decided to dissolve the women and youth wings of the party in the area.
Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, the general secretary of the now-defunct women’s wing, F. Marngar, said though they had no choice but to accept the decision of the executive committee, she was clueless as to why the dissolved women and youth wings were branded anti-party and accused of misleading HSPDP members.
Marngar, it may be mentioned, was suspended for three years from the party and also asked to apologise within 48 hours for her statements against president of the local party unit and Nongstoin MLA D. Jyndiang.
Marngar asserted that she has done nothing wrong and hence will not seek apology. “I am ready to face any challenge,” she added.
Meanwhile, youth wing president Marbiang Nongsiej has set a week’s deadline for the executive committee and the local MLA to come clear on what ground they decided to dissolve the unit.
Nongsiej further alleged that by dissolving the women and youth wings, the EC and the local unit president  have disregarded the constitution of the party, which states that explanation should be sought before expulsion.
“The youth wing has not given any statement against the EC or the MLA. So on what grounds was it dissolved,” Nongsiej questioned.
