SHILLONG: City girl Tanisha Phanbuh has made the cut as one of the top 10 contestants from across the country to participate in Asia’s first food truck reality TV show, ‘Femme Foodies’.
The original series was based on the unique concept of ‘Gourmet on wheels’ or ‘Meals on Wheels’.
Femme Foodies will be aired from May 22 onwards on Living Foodz channel.
Set in picturesque locales in Goa, the show will have the participants compete against each other for the chance to win a premium, state-of-the-art food truck as the ultimate grand prize.
The contestants will be judged by celebrity chef Ranveer Brar, restaurant chain Sodabottleopenerwala’s chef manager Anahita Dhondy and renowned food and wine consultant Shagun Mehra. The three judges will evaluate the contestants on the parameters of vision, expression and technique.
23-year-old Phanbuh said that she came across the poster of the show on social media and decided to audition.
“I do aim to bring out our north eastern regional food whenever possible. I want to show that there is more to north east cuisine than just bhoot jolokia and fermented food,” she said.
Phanbuh has always had an inclination towards food, a fact that her classmates and teachers can validate and is currently working in the hospitality industry.
