SHILLONG: “Meghalaya, despite being rich in various forms of natural resources, yet the state has not been able to fully extract the benefits from these resources,” said Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Thursday.
Speaking at a one-day ‘State Level Science Congress’ organised by the State Council of Science, Technology and Environment under the 19th National Children’s Science Congress, 2011, Lyngdoh said natural resources needed to be tapped for the overall development of the state while adding that there is need to develop a scientific temper among the students which will in turn generate scientific minded citizen so as to facilitate development in all sectors particularly at the societal level.
“Through the Children’s Science Congress this year the state will be getting some projects from the children who will suggest towards scientific and meaningful utilization of the resources around us and to promote their conservation”, she added.
