SHILLONG: The Meghalaya IAS Officers’ Association has expressed shock and anguish over the judgment of a special CBI court in New Delhi on Monday that sentenced K.S Kropha and two others to three years’ in prison.
The association, which held an emergency meeting on Monday, said the officer “who has served selflessly for 35 years in various capacities is known for his unimpeachable integrity and has had an unblemished service record”.
The bureaucrats expressed their firm support to Kropha, who was the joint secretary in the Coal Ministry when the irregularities happened, and his family “at this difficult time”.
They also decided that the matter should be taken up with the Central IAS Officers’ Association in New Delhi.
“The fraternity of officers fervently hopes that justice will prevail and K.S Kropha will be honourably exonerated from all charges,” the association said.
