SHILLONG: In pursuance of Section 4 and 8 of the Inter State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of service) Act, 1979, the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills has directed all principal employers and contractors employing migrants workmen to register their respective establishments and obtain license from the registering and licensing officer failing which defaulters shall be liable to penal action and prosecution.
