SHILLONG: The UDP has criticised the Centre for imposing a ban on cow slaughter, a move which has been criticised by leaders across party line, including BJP.
UDP working president Titosstarwell Chyne said the Centre’s move to ban cow slaughter as reflected in news reports, is “highly unacceptable” as it is an infringement on the rights of food habits.
The party asked the Centre to focus more on providing food to the hungry than on the menu.
