Step out in style this monsoon

So say hello to the deluge and goodbye to your good old denims for a while to avoid muddy hemlines and bring out those shorts which are tucked in your closets.

Shorts can be teamed with the uber trendy slogan tees to endorse a statement and finish the look with water-resistant kicks.

You can accessorise this look with long pendants. Last year was all about chokers which have made way for long, navel grazing pendants in 2017! If you need to add a little glam to the overall look, replace the slogan tees with trendy cold-shoulders or ruffles.

Culottes make great substitute for pants and denims and they also look super chic and saves you from drenching, wet hemlines. Combat the gloomy weather with brighter colours rather than sticking to monotones, pair solid colour culottes with printed off-shoulders or flirty crops or vice versa. You can also colour-block with two different solid combinations. Try sticking to bright colours to combat the dullness of the weather. To complete the look, you can wear rain resistant platforms or go for just simple thong slippers.

Don’t ditch the shirts. This monsoon, go for shirt dresses with broad waist belts to make them look trendier. Just because the skies are grey your palette doesn’t need to be boring, so go for bright colours and vibrant mood lifting prints. Team it up with trendy rain boots.

Corset belts are one of the biggest trends this season. Update your casual wear by adding a twist to a low-key T-shirt or to your regular dress with a bold belt or a corset.

Ditch the open hair and go for a little messy bun or just tie them into a high ponytail flaunting those cheek bones.

And only stick to water-resistant make-up unless you are doing a pre-dress-up for Halloween. And yes, less is more so be subtle and minimal with your make-up.

Lastly, the best tip of all: Embrace and enjoy the rains and don’t forget to keep it chic but comfortable. And definitely don’t forget the umbrella!
