Govt releases arrears of SSA teachers

SHILLONG: Three months’ arrears of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers at the enhanced rate for the period from April 1 to June 30 2016 including enhanced salary for the month of March and April, 2017 was released to the account of all the District Mission Coordinators’ (DMCs) concerned on June 1.
This was informed to a delegation Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) Central Body on June 2 by State Project Director of Sarva Shiksha (Contd on P-10)

The salary will be disbursed to the SSA teachers by this week, H.M. Marbaniang, general secretary of MSSASA central body informed.
Ambrose informed the teachers that due to the insufficient funds, the pending arrears related to enhanced salary of 12481 lower primary and upper primary SSA teachers for financial year 2016-17 as approved by MHRD Project Approval Board (PAB) 2016-17 and order issued by SEMAM on October 31, 2016 which is under two categories, trained and untrained had been released for three months only (from April 1 to June 30,2016) and the remaining arrears for the month of July 2016 to February 2017 will be released after the receipt of funds which is expected within June), Marbaniang added.
