Cultural prog mesmerises Shillongites

 SHILLONG: The NEHU Campus came live on Sunday evening with the enchanting performances by artists of North India. The Border Security Force in collaboration with North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC), Allahabad organized Northern India’s multi-state composite cultural show at NEHU Campus. UP Governor, BL Joshi was the chief guest besides VC, NEHU and other dignitaries.The programme titled “Desert Symphony & Uttarayan” depicted the rich culture of the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, UP, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Haryana and MP. The artists of North East Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur presented the Dandia Garba (Gujarat), Ghoomar (Rajasthan), Kathak (UP), Bhangra (Punjab) and other dance forms, especially the Kalbalia dance by dancer Gulabo from Rajasthan, which left the audience enthralled. Hindi poet, Dr Ashok Chakradhar added the jovial mood to the programme.
