Los Angeles: Teen star Justin Bieber, who is fighting allegations that he fathered a child with his fan Mariah Yeater, is reportedly planning to take a DNA test and then sue the 20-year-old.

Bieber has denied the allegations and his lawyers have vowed to do everything possible to defend the singer, reports contactmusic.com.

Bieber, 17, will take the paternity after he returns from Europe and will sue Yeater if the paternity test proves her wrong, the TMZ reported. His lawyer, Howard Weitzman, contacted Yeater’s attorneys to inform about the test.

Matt Pare and Lance Rogers said: “We are encouraged that Justin Bieber will voluntarily take the paternity test. That is the only way to definitively determine who the father is. The paternity suit was filed in good faith, and it will continue…”

Bieber’s spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said: “We are going to take every step to defend and protect Justin.”

“Bieber and his team think it’s important to file a lawsuit against Yeater to show there are consequences when somebody trumps up phony, hurtful allegations against a celebrity,” the website said.

Mariah Yeater, 20, has filed legal papers stating she had sex with 17-year-old Bieber Oct 25 last year following the singer’s performance at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre on October 25, 2010.

However, representatives for Bieber have dismissed Yeater’s claims.

“While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.”

The young star, who is dating Selena Gomez, too addressed the scandal on the “Today” show.

“I’d just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true. I know that I’m going to be a target, but I’m never going to be a victim.” Asked if he knew Yeater, he said, “Never met the woman.” (Agencies)
