Kohli closer to 8000 runs in ODIs

New Delhi, Jun 13 (UNI) Indian skipper Virat Kohli will add another milestone in his career when he inches closer towards 8000 runs in ODIs and will be the fastest if he reaches this feat. Virat who has played 182 ODI has scored 7912 runs at an average of 53.82 with 27 century and 41 fifty. India under the captaincy of Kohli has reached the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy in England and will play against Bangladesh on June 15 at Edgbaston. In three matches, the skipper has scored 81 not out, 0 and unbeaten 76. To reach the milestone of 8000 runs Kohli needs 88 runs when they play against Bangladesh. Kohli who has record of chasing runs has the opportunity to reach 8000 run mark. Presently this record lies in name of AB de Villiers of South Africa who during his 182 innings has completed 8000 runs. Virat in his 174 innings has collected 7912 runs and has the opportunity to break ABs record. Among the Indian batsman who has scored the fastest 8000 runs lies in name of former captain Sourav Ganguly after playing 200 innings, while Sachin Tendulkar took 210 innings to reach this milestone. In the case of highest run-scorer in ODI cricket, Virat is currently at number 30. If Kohli achieves this feat against Bangladesh then he will be the 29th and the 8th Indian to reach 8000 runs. UNI
