India locks Kyrgyzstan goal less at half time in AFC Asia qualifier

Bengaluru, Jun 13 (UNI) In a listless battle for supremacy, India held Kyrgyzstan to a goal less first half in the AFC Asia Cup qualifier match played at Kanteerava Stadium here today.
The battle was nevertheless stirring to that extend with opponents pressuring home the advantage in the first half but India emerged on the attack later in the first half. But it remained unresolved in the battle the two competitive sides.
Kirghiz captain Edgar Bernhardt could have scored in the 15th minute after a fine lurk from the left but the Indian goal keeper kept him aside.
Earlier the Kyrgyz made early foray into Indian citadel with relentless attack and earned two corners but were foiled by the Indian goal keeper. But later Indians made amends, under Sunil Chetri who came back strongly earned a corner kick in he 18th minute but the forward line was left wanting.
Kyrgyz skipper Edgar Bernhardt almost score in the 15th minute but foiled by the Indian keeper.
The goalless score in the first first half was good for Indians who were without their main strikers and the second half may go in their favour. UNI
