World Blood Donor Day
The Meghalaya State Blood Transfusion Council in collaboration with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society and all the licensed blood banks of Meghalaya will observe the World Blood Donor Day on June 14 at U Soso Tham Auditorium from 10 am onwards. A voluntary blood donation camp will also be held on the occasion.
Office bearers
The HYC Shillong City formed its Umpling Unit on June 8. Fairlock Denard Ryngksai has been named the president of the unit. 20 executive members and other office bearers were also elected.
All Community Transformation Society elected new office bearers for the year 2017-18. Caleb Gurung has been named the president, Raju Singh the general secretary and Aruna Phanbuh the treasurer.
The FKJGP elected office bearers for its Purakhasia circle in West Garo Hills on June 12. While Hilbert K. Sangma was elected as the president, Techak Ch. Marak the vice president and Balnang N. Sangma the general secretary.
Intl conference
The Department of Linguistics, NEHU will host an International Conference on ‘Linguistic Landscaping’ on June 21 and 23. The event is being sponsored by NEC.
