Hockey World League: India drubs Scotland 4-1

London, Jun 15 (UNI) India, after recovering from the first half slump, scored four goals in the third quarter to beat Scotland 4-1 in the Hockey World League (HWL) semi-final here today.
The Indian team was lagging behind by one goal in the first two quarters but in the third quarter, they made one goal in the 11th minute.
With Chris Grassic scoring in the fifth minute Scitland took the lead in the first half.
With the onset of the third quarter India consistently attacked Scotland to up the ante. Ramandeep Singh scored two fantastic goals in India’s victory. In the 31st minute, Ramandeep gave India an equal footing with a reverse stick. In the 34th minute, Ramandeep gave India a 2-1 lead by scoring another field goal at SV Sunil’s brilliant pass.
Akashdeep Singh scored in the 40th minute converting a field goal ro make it 3-1, while drag flicker Harmanpreet Singh scored the fourth goal of India in the 42nd minute with a powerful flick from the penalty corner. The Scottish goalkeeper had no chance to stop this shot. India’s next match will be against Canada on June 17.
Earlier, Argentina defeated Korea 2-1 in Pool A match to complete the points. UNI
