NEIPF issues deadline to cement plants

JOWAI: The North East Indigenous People’s Federation (NEIPF), youth wing Narpuh unit has set a month deadline to all cement plants in East Jaintia Hills for obtaining necessary documents such as work permits, trading license and labour license besides other.
The NEIPF, who lodged a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner on Monday, blamed all cement plants operational in the district for not obtaining necessary documents for their labourers, workers and contractors.
“People who works in cement plants are mostly from outside and the need to obtain these documents,” said the complaint.
The NEIPF also urged the DC to take necessary action against all those who failed to procure mentioned documents.
