SHILLONG: HSPDP MDC Teilinia Thangkhiew advocated the need to use schools buses to reduce traffic congestion in the city.
Moving a motion on congestion in Shillong on the second day of the KHADC’s budget session here on Wednesday, Thangkhiew pointed out that taking children to school in private vehicles only adds to the traffic problem.
She also suggested the need to come up with “underground roadways” which she admitted is an “over-ambitious plan”.
In reply to the motion, CEM PN Syiem said the EC will write to the State Government about the views and suggestions of the members of the KHADC.
