SHILLONG: The 543rd birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated by the Sikh sangat at Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha,near Raj Bhawan,Shillong.
The occasion was celebrated by thousands of devotees from all walks of life which include Deputy Chief Minister BM Lanong.
The days programme included Kirtan by Ragi Jattha Sardar Sodhi Rajpal Singh from Mumbai and Giani Amrik Singh (the Head Granthi of the Gurudwara) and regular prayers etc.
A book — Guru Nanak Dev Ji – an Enlightened Soul & Great Reformer-authored by Kamalendu Das was released on the occasion by Lanong.
This was followed by Evening Diwan ,during which several local devotees performed Kirtan.
The day-long celebration culminated in hymns and Aarti .
