Byrnihat PHC sans doctor

NONGPOH: The PHC in Byrnihat is running without a medical officer for the last two weeks.
Talking to media persons, headman of Lumnongrim Nongthymmai under Byrnihat area, Sosthenes Sohtun said, “Since two weeks the centre is running without a doctor creating numerous difficulties for the local residents. The government is yet to send a replacement for the previous in charge, who has gone for further studies.”
Sohtun also informed that on Tuesday he met the District  Medical & Health Officer, Dr. Bareh Pohchen to discuss the matter and urged him to ensure that a doctor is sent to the PHC without delay.
Sohtun said he has also taken up the matter with the Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner.
