SHILLONG: The former chairman of ANVC-B, Bernard N Marak has urged the State Government to pay Rs 2.5 lakh rehabilitation package to each cadre as promised by former Special Director General of Police S.K. Jain.
Marak claimed that the disband United A’chik Liberation Army (UALA), which is a faction of ANVC (B), got a package of Rs 2.5 lakh each and that the ‘mother organisation’, i.e. ANVC-B) should also get the same amount. “ANVC-B) is supposed to get a package of Rs 2.5 lakh each in the line with Manipur as it has been agreed by S K Jain before disbanding.” Marak added. He also cautioned its cadres from submitting their account numbers to the State police.
Marak said that the State Government had claimed that 362 ANVC and 49 ANVC-B cadres got the package of Rs 1.5 lakh each.
The list of these cadres should be submitted to the ANVC-B leaders within a month, Marak said.
Marak further added that if cadres submit their account numbers without the knowledge of the leaders, the ANVC (B) leadership will not take any responsibility.
