Itanagar: The Union Ministry for Law and Justice has agreed to set up a Law college in Arunachal Pradesh in near future, according to official sources.

This was disclosed during a meeting with Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in New Delhi on Friday.

In the meeting, Mr Tuki drew the Union Minister’s attention towards the escalating demand, particularly for establishment of a Law college in the state.

He apprised the Union Minister that due to non-availability of Law college in the state, students have to go out to different parts of the country to study Law.

Conceding the demand of being the most genuine one, Mr Khurshid assured of initiaing the process of establishment of the Law college.

The Union Minister also said the fund would not be a constraint and the Centre would allocate substantial fund for it, sources informed.

To an invitation from Mr Tuki to visit Arunachal to take stock of feasibility of the demand for speedy approval of the project, the Union Minister promised to visit the state soon, sources added. (UNI)
