SHILLONG: As many as 13 MDCs from KHADC are keen to join the newly launched political outfit, People’s Democratic Front (PDF), claimed Nongkrem MDC HS Shylla.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Shylla, who recently quit UDP and joined PDF said, some sitting MLAs will also join the party in the long run. However, he did not divulge the names of the MLAs and MDCs set to join PDF.
There were media reporters that suspended Congress member and KHADC CEM P N Syiem is also set to join the PDF this month after quitting Congress.
It was in March this year that the PDF was officially launched as a regional party with former FKJGP leader Emlang Lyttan as the working president.
The focus of PDF is to “find out ways and means to address poverty, unemployment, lack of infrastructure and to provide better education facilities among other development initiatives”.
