E-learning centres for JEE and NEET coming up

SHILLONG:  Meghalaya state Information Technology and Communication Department has proposed to set up e-learning  centres  for aspirants appearing in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and will induct a batch of 25 students to start with. The process of selection of aspirants has been started.

This was informed by John Kharshiing, Co-Chairman of the State Planning Board after a review meeting with department officials here on Monday.

The officials of the department also informed him that more that 1000 schools n the state had benefitted from the IT education schemes for schools, which was partly funded by North Eastern Council (NEC).

Meanwhile, in a review meeting the officials of Science and Technology Department informed Kharshiing that it was initiating the process of mapping of historical monuments of Jaintia Hills for preservation and promotion of eco-tourism.  The department as conducted surveys of such monuments at  Muktapur and Nartiang.
