SHILLONG: A family including a woman was recently assaulted by miscreants in the city. Police said that the incident took place on July 1, when a group of persons assaulted Lal Singh, his son and daughter-in-law at Mawlonghat.
In another incident, on July 2 around 6.30 pm, one Nowel Biam assaulted Marbiang Shylla at Arwaliang village in West Jaintia Hills. As a result, the victim succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
