Condolence meet planned in London

Guwahati: The High Commission of India’s cultural wing Nehru Centre in London will be organising a Shradhanjali programme on November 18 in memory of legendary music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika, who passed away on November 5.

The event at London is being organized by Rini Kakati, NRI co-ordinator for UK, Ms Kakati informed in a release from London on Tuesday.

The condolence meeting will be chaired by Rita Payne (Chair of the Commonwealth Journalists Association (UK) and Editorial Director, Global magazine) and attended by Kailash Budhwar (BBC Hindi Service), Ashis Ray (Times of India journalist), Jitendra Kumar, First Secretary, Indian High Commission (Consular and Community Affairs) and Gulam Mustafa, Director of Udichi UK.

Indians living abroad have been organising condolence meets after Dr Hazarika’s death. (UNI)
