SHILLONG:Several trucks have been detained in the state for carrying coal in violation of the NGT order.
On July 13, police detected six trucks AS-01A 2781,AS-01IC-4808, ML-04B-5032 ML 05P-8359, ML-04-4932 and ML-04C-4567, while they were transporting limestone without challans at Khanapara in Ri Bhoi. Matter is under enquiry.
Meanwhile on the night of July 12, Police detected one coal laden truck (NL-02L-5942) while illegally transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Umling.
In another incident on July 11, police conducted checking on illegal transportation of coal at Sookilo Area (EJH) and detected two trucks (AS-01GC-3665 & AS-01FP-3137) driven by Rafikul Islam and Lucky Singh while transporting coal in violation of NGT order.
