SHILLONG: Two hawkers from Laban have filed an FIR alleging that their vending trolley was broken and it was missing from its original place near the Laban dispensary on Thursday.
The hawker identified as Lakhi Nongbri and Shane Thabah said that now a construction work has begun at the behest of Laban MLA Sanbor Shullai, the hawkers were asked to move.
The hawkers added that forceful removal of their trolley is against the law since they have been doing business in that spot since 2009 with all necessary permissions.
The FIR filed with Laban Police also says that since there is a status quo order from the High Court, no hawker can be removed.
