Orphans, traditional heads remember Tirot Sing

SHILLONG: Various organisations in State remembered U Tirot Sing on his death anniversary.
In a unique function, the orphans in city remembered the freedom fighter.
Rilang, a home for orphans in Nongthymmai in collaboration with the 3rd Semester BSW students of St Edmunds College organised a one-day programme on Monday to commemorate U Tirot Singh day with an objective to promote holistic growth of the children
The children made exhibition models with the theme on U Tirot Sing Syiem during the week which was exhibited on Monday.

The programme was sponsored by Manas Chaudhury, former education minister, Ashahel D Shira, parliamentary secretary, Zenith M Sangma, excise minister 
The Dorbar Shnong Nongrim Hills and Seng Samla Shnong Nongrim Hills observed the 182nd death anniversary of Syiem Tirot Sing by holding a medical camp and providing free medicines to 400 residents.

Local MLA Jamino Mawthoh and MDC Antonio War MDC, headman of Nongrim Hills, doctors and residents were present on the occasion. On this day, Mawthoh also gave away garbage collection vehicles to Nongrim Hills.
