SHILLONG: The UDP Mylliem Circle has rejected the decision of the Coordination Committee of the alliance to allot Mylliem constituency to ally HSPDP and said it will continue to support Hamlet Dohling even if he contests the 2018 elections from a different party.
The Executive Committee of the party’s Mylliem circle held a meeting on Wednesday after the UDP-HSPDP seat-sharing decision was announced.
In a statement to the media, Dohling’s supporters said they will work hard to ensure his victory and urged people not to get misled.
UDP took the lion’s share in the seat-sharing with its pre-poll alliance partner.
The co-ordination committee of the alliance decided that out of the 36 seats, 17 free seats will go to UDP and 10 to the ally.
