Irked at the heavy traffic jam, Kohli while speaking to media persons on the sidelines of his meeting with BJP workers here, slammed Meghalaya Government over its utter failure in traffic mismanagement in the capital city.

Kohli lamented that it took one very long time to reach Shillong from Barapani.

“One need three hours from Barapani to reach Shillong city in a car, what development has taken place in Meghalaya,” he said.

He said that the many villages were being connected under the Pradhan Mantri Graham Sadak Yojana and the Union Government was also constructing highways in many states, be it states ruled by the BJP or any other party.

“In Shillong, people are still suffering because of poor connectivity,” he said.

While coming to Shillong on Saturday, Kohli opted for a motorcycle ride from Umiam as the traffic congestion was getting worse and he couldn’t afford to waste another hour.
