Dark glasses to be illegal from Dec 1

SHILLONG: The State police department has asked all vehicle owners to remove all kinds of dark, black or reflective glasses/films from their vehicles by December 1.

“We have decided to give time till December 1 to remove all dark, black or reflective glasses from the vehicles. This is meant for both private and government vehicles,” DGP N Ramachandran said in a statement. After the deadline, the Police department will begin prosecuting all those who failed to comply with this directive.

“All vehicle owners and drivers including those of two wheelers are advised to carry the registration papers and driving licenses. Vehicles without these documents will be detained,” Ramachandran said.

Besides, anyone driving vehicles without number plates would also be detained, the statement added.
