Mumbai: The family of Khashaba Jadhav, who won India’s first individual Olympic medal, has put it up for auction to garner funds for a wrestling academy named after him.
“The decision to auction the bronze medal is a painful one but we are left with few options as the state government has reneged on its promise to build the academy after sanctioning Rs 1.58 crore,” Ranjit Jadhav, son of the famous wrestler, said from Satara. (PTI)
