Shah defers Aug 12 visit to city

SHILLONG: BJP national president Amit Shah, who was scheduled to visit the city on August 12, has deferred his visit. Shibun Lyngdoh, the party’s state head, said new date for Shah’s visit has not been finalised but “he will surely come to Shillong in August”.
Shah will inaugurate the party office in the city.
Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav will visit Shillong on Thursday.
Lyngdoh said Madhav wants to see the organisational structure of BJP in Meghalaya in view of the upcoming 2018 Assembly elections.
