SHILLONG: The Government of Meghalaya has created the Mawlai Community & Rural Development Block in East Khasi Hills District with its headquarter at Mawlai with immediate effect. This was informed by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, C & RD Department.
Mawlai C & RD Block will comprise of the villages of Mawiong Umjapung, Mawiong Rim, Mawlai Umthlong, Mawlai Umjajew, Mawlai Nongkwar, Mawlai Iewrynghep, Mawlai Nonglum, Mawlai Motsyiar, Mawlai Syllaikariah, Mawlai Umjaiur, Mawlai Nongpdeng, Mawlai Phudmuri, Mawlai Datbaki, Mawlai Kyntonmassar, Mawlai Mawroh, Mawlai Mawtawar, Mawlai Nongkohlew, Mawlai Umsaw Mawjynrong, Mawlai Mawsiatkhnam, Mawlai Umrynjah, Mawlai Umphrew, Mawlai Madan Mawkhar, Mawlai Mawkynroh and Mawlai Umshing.
With this creation, the above listed villages will cease to exist in their respective earlier C & RD Blocks.
