SHILLONG: The Government of Meghalaya has created the Mawpat Community & Rural Development Block in East Khasi Hills District with its headquarter at Mawpat Pyllun with immediate effect. This was informed by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, C & RD Department.
Mawpat C & RD Block will comprise of the villages of Mawpat (CT), Pynthorbah, Pynthorumkhrah Golflink, Lumshyiap, Nongmynsong (CT), Langkyrding Mihngi, Madan Saisiej, Umroh, Mawlong, Mawkasiang, Mawdiangdiang, Diengiong, Ishyrwat, Umpling (CT), Nongrah, Lapalang, Rynjah, Nongshilliang, Lumiablot, Pohkseh, Lumbatngen, Nongrim Hills, Demthring, Nongkhyriem, Lawjynriew, Lumsohphoh, Lumdiengsoh, Lumpyngngad, Wahdienglieng and Risa Colony.
With this creation, the above listed villages will cease to exist in their respective earlier C & RD Blocks.
