General meeting
The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement will convene the general meeting of its East Khasi Hills District circle at its office in Pynthorbah at 5:30 pm on August 3 to elect new office bearers.
Felicitation
Students who cleared their SSLC examinations this year with high grades were felicitated at Baghmara in South Garo Hills in a programme organised by the Garo Students’ Union.
Death condoled
The members of Geetali, a Socio Cultural Organisation, Laban, held a condolence meeting on Friday following the sudden demise of Rana Bijoy Purkayastha, (Retd.), Chief Enginier PWD. He was one of the patrons of Geetali.
Workshop
The College of Teacher Education at Rongkhon in Tura conducted a six-day workshop on ‘Developing different techniques and skills for teaching at different stages of an individual’ from July 24-July 29 for teachers hailing from different schools in Garo Hills. There were 46 teachers who attended the same.
