SHILLONG: A day after escaping from the custody of police after he had been captured and handed over to police by locals, the wanted criminal David Lyngdoh Marshillong alias `Bah Jyllud’ was re-arrested here in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
Police informed that David Lyngdoh was coming in a local taxi from Madanrting when he was spotted by two constables from Sadar Police Station.
After getting down at Laitumkhrah. Police personnel finally got hold of him and took him to Laitumkhrah Police station since it was the nearest police station from the spot.
Earlier, David Lyngdoh Marshillong was caught by the residents of Umdihar village at around 5 A.M. on Monday after he had committed theft in residences of Franky Syngkil and Plester Syngkil of the village.
The village authority after conducting an investigation into the crime committed by David, handed him over to Nongpoh police station who then sent him to Nongpoh Community Health Centre (CHC) for medical examination.
However, just before he could be subjected to medical test, the criminal made good his escape through a sliding window pane of the hospital.
