TURA:  The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stated that mass exodus of its members from the party at Dalu Mandal Committee was not going to affect the party much.

In a clarification issued by the BJP in Garo Hills on Thursday on the news report relating to mass shifting of party allegiance by its members from Dalu Mandal Committee, the party’s Tura City District President, Dilash Marak said that it was the anti-party activities of the members that automatically led to the dissolution of the whole Mandal Committee and its reconstitution with Bobani Koch as the President.

“The Dalu BJP Mandal Committee led by Utpal Marak was a defunct body after Bernard Marak resigned. Utpal removed the party’s national flag from the Dalu office without the party’s knowledge which shows that the committee has ceased to exist. It was only on instructions from the BJP high command that I constituted the new BJP Dalu Mandal Committee,” Marak said adding its former members’ joining the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was not a loss to the BJP.
